<p itemprop="articleBody">The fashion industry attracted the largest funding, with 22% of the investment going to fashion-focused digital technology companies. <a href="http://www.justfab.com/" target="_blank">JustFab</a> was the top fundraiser, raising $76 million to further develop its fashion site.</p>

<p>Uber.com provides affordable luxury transportation through an efficient technology-centered approach. Using a smartphone app and real-time GPS technology, clients are able to request a car that arrives within minutes, with no need to waste time paying cash or waiting for a credit card to be processed, as the fare is automatically paid for through the account on file with the app. The payment fee even covers the tip, eliminating all need for cash.</p>
<p>&#8220;This is an opportune time to open shop in Detroit,&#8221; said Uber Launch Specialist Chan Park. &#8220;We are very excited about playing a role in Detroit&#8217;s transformation by bringing our innovative technology that revolutionizes the way people get around, with convenience and in style.&#8221;</p>
<p>Uber was founded by Travis Kalanick and Garrett Camp in 2009, was rated Fast Company&#8217;s &#8220;2013 Most Innovative Company in Mobile,&#8221; and has rapidly expanded to more than 29 cities internationally today.</p>
<p>&#8220;Our technology allows customers to move around the city easily and empowers our local partner transportation companies to expand their customer base,&#8221; said Park, adding that Uber offers variable pricing based on distance as well as traffic conditions for luxury sedans and SUVs.</p>
<p>&#8220;You don&#8217;t have to worry about any unknowns when you call for a car,&#8221; Park said. &#8220;With Uber you know when and how you are going to get picked up because you can watch your driver coming toward you on the map interface. There is even a rating system that allows you to see the quality of the driver.&#8221;</p>
<p>Detroit Ventures Partners, a venture capital firm that invests in seed and early-stage technology companies, helped recruit Uber to downtown Detroit and brokered the company&#8217;s lease in Rock Ventures&#8217; M@dison Building.  The decision to expand their business to downtown Detroit was made just hours after Uber executives saw the opportunity emerging in the nation&#8217;s fastest-growing urban core.</p>
<p>&#8220;It is exciting that an innovative technology platform like Uber is coming downtown to join a growing, young and energetic environment – and that they made the decision so quickly and without hesitation,&#8221; said Detroit Ventures Partners&#8217; Managing Partner Josh Linkner. &#8220;The M@dison will provide them with an open, collaborative space where they will be able to continue to create a thriving, growing tech business.&#8221;</p>

<p>The GUCCI SYNC Myspace profile taps into the site&#8217;s sleek new platform, focused on music and discovery by featuring a special Myspace-produced GUCCI SYNC video, which depicts real-world connections based on music and the creativity inherent in youth culture. The profile will also feature a multimedia mix of dynamic artists.</p>
<p>Gucci Timepieces &amp; Jewelry seeks to champion emerging talent and will collaborate with Myspace to help promote new artists via a specially curated list of musicians. Artists highlighted within the GUCCI SYNC profile will contribute to the SYNC music mix, as well as serve as ambassadors for the watch.</p>
<p>The watches are available in two sizes, XXL (46mm) or large (36mm), GUCCI SYNC comes in four colors: white, red, black and blue. Each colored dial displays Gucci&#8217;s iconic interlocking &#8216;GG&#8217; symbol. The Gucci logo is etched around the stainless steel case at 9 o&#8217;clock and also appears on the dial at 12 o&#8217;clock.</p>

Within the app, golfers designate an ultimate foursome using their LinkedIn network of professional contacts, and submit the group for a chance to win a golf &#8220;business&#8221; trip that includes a custom club fitting at Callaway&#8217;s California headquarters and a round of golf.</p>
<p>&#8220;We are disrupting the traditional influence models in golf because golfers&#8217; expectations about how they experience brands has changed dramatically,&#8221; said Harry Arnett, SVP, Callaway Golf. &#8220;This partnership and concept are exciting because no other company has used LinkedIn&#8217;s API in this way before, and we&#8217;re using it to connect passionate golfers. It furthers our commitment to being the most transparent, most connecting, most engaged brand in golf.&#8221;</p>
<p>The experience begins with users logging into the application via LinkedIn Connect, which then generates a recommended foursome through an innovative use of LinkedIn&#8217;s API (application programming interface). The three connection types created from the API within the foursome are:</p>
<ul type="disc">
<li><b>The Company Insider: </b>Someone within the user&#8217;s company. The API seeks out a golfer first, but if one isn&#8217;t available, then the person with the most appropriate title is selected.</li>
<li><b>The Business Contact: </b>Someone in the user&#8217;s network and industry that the user has the most connections in common with.</li>
<li><b>The Golfer:</b> To find the passionate golfer in the user&#8217;s network, the API references attributes such as interests and group membership. The person with the highest number of connections in common will be selected.</li>
</ul>
<p>Participants can also &#8220;mulligan&#8221; out the recommended connections and handpick their foursome by browsing their professional network. The first 1,000 participants will receive a dozen Callaway HEX Chrome+™ balls, the Company&#8217;s newly released, fastest Tour-level golf ball.</p>
<p>Terry Dry, President of Fanscape, Callaway Golf&#8217;s social media agency, said &#8220;LinkedIn is the perfect partner to create this experience. In addition to having our target demo LinkedIn users are already talking about golf, they&#8217;re creating golf groups and listing golf as an expertise to attract connections.
